Addition to the Privacy Policy

This cookie policy is an addition to the privacy policy of this website. The cookie policy explains how a website uses cookies and what data is collected with them, while the privacy policy provides a more comprehensive overview of all data processing activities on the website and beyond.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small pieces of information that resemble text files and can be stored and read on a device. They are used for various purposes, including the basic functions of the website, security, privacy, offering optional features, collecting statistical data about visitors, and providing marketing systems. Practical examples of information that can be stored in cookies include: storing login status in user accounts, the contents of shopping carts on e-commerce platforms, or a user ID for tracking behavior on the website.

Technically, this information can be stored in various ways. The most well-known examples are HTTP cookies and similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, or IndexedDB. Each type of storage has different properties that determine technical processing, accessibility, and the administrators who have access to the information. All these forms of storage are usually collectively referred to as “cookies” and are therefore referred to as such in this cookie policy.

What is the legal basis for placing/reading cookies?

The placement and reading of cookies in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) are, in accordance with Article 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act and Article 129 of the Law on Electronic Communication (Belgium), only permitted if a user has given consent based on comprehensive information about the purposes of the processing. The website administrator may also place cookies if they are strictly necessary to provide you, as a user, with the explicitly requested service, for example, the basic content of this website or other strictly necessary cookies to display the basic functionality of the website without your consent.

The placement and reading of cookies in the Netherlands are, in accordance with Article 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act, only permitted if a user has the opportunity to object to the processing of data based on comprehensive information about the purposes of the processing. In exceptional cases, consent must be obtained for the processing of personal data in cookies.

What rights does the website visitor have?

Services and their associated cookies can be set and read based on your consent or a legitimate interest. When you first visited this website, you were asked for consent and had the opportunity to object to the use of certain services. In our consent dialog, we explained which legal basis is used for which service.

You have the right to view the history of your decisions, change your privacy settings, object to the use of services, and withdraw your consent at any time. Below, you will find options to exercise your rights:

  • Change privacy settings
  • History of privacy settings
  • Withdraw consent

How do you manage cookies in a browser?

  • How do you delete cookies in a browser? To delete cookies from your device, you can clear your browsing data in your browser settings. This action deletes all cookies from all websites you have visited, possibly including saved login details and site preferences. In some browsers, you can delete only the cookies and similar data without clearing the entire browsing history.
  • How can you manage cookies in a browser? For more detailed control over cookies specific to certain websites, navigate to the privacy and cookie settings in your browser. Here, you can adjust the preferences regarding cookie usage for individual sites.
  • How do you block cookies in a browser? It is possible to configure the settings of most modern browsers to block all cookies on your device. However, blocking cookies may cause certain services and functionalities to not work properly, such as logging in as a user. For many browsers, you can also use extensions that block the placement of cookies on websites.
  • How can you manage cookies on this website? To adjust your cookie preferences on this website, you can change your preferences at any time by clicking the link in the “Rights of the Website Visitor” section.

What types of cookies exist?

  • Essential cookies are indispensable for the basic functionality of a website and enable features such as storing login details or accessing secure parts of the site. This includes, for example, security cookies that can identify an unwanted bot on the website by storing an authentication key in a cookie.
  • Functional cookies enhance the user experience by storing information and preferences, such as language settings or website display settings, so that they are personalized. This includes, for example, preference cookies that store the preferred quality of videos on a website.
  • Statistics cookies collect data about the use of a website to gain insight into user behavior and optimize the performance of the site. This includes, for example, a randomly assigned user ID that can be used to check if you have visited a subpage of the website.
  • Marketing cookies are used to track user behavior across different websites and to display personalized advertisements based on users’ interests and browsing behavior. This includes, for example, advertising cookies that store an interaction with an advertisement on the website and pass it on to advertisers or a chat system for pre-sale questions and customer support.

Who can set cookies on this website?

On this website, both the website administrator and third-party services used on this website can place cookies and access their content. Who has access to which cookies and their content differs between first-party cookies and third-party cookies. First-party cookies are created by the visited website and can only be read by the website administrator and integrated third-party services on this website. Third-party cookies are usually set by third-party services on other domains, can be read on all websites where the service managing the domain is integrated, and are used, for example, by advertising networks to track user behavior across different websites and offer personalized advertising.

About us

About Us

As of August 19, 2024, we are the proud owners of B&B Sagenland.

After years of preparation, our dream of running a B&B has finally come true. After working in finance for many years, I decided to change careers a few years ago and became a chef. First, I worked for a year as an employee, followed by nearly two years as a self-employed chef. I gained experience in catering, cooking in a care institution, and serving lunch menus in a museum café. Additionally, for over 10 years, my partner and I have provided catering during a week-long event organized by the Dutch Illuminators’ and Calligraphers’ Guild. I bring all this experience to B&B Sagenland and *De Huiskamer van Sagenland*. We thoroughly enjoy this beautiful spot in the welcoming region of Twente, and we’d love to share this place with our guests.

I love making others happy, and this Bed & Breakfast is a wonderful way to do just that.

Who does what? Kirsten ensures B&B guests have a pleasant stay. Henno supports Kirsten during weekends and evenings where possible.
